J&K: Army foils infiltration bid, kills ultra

Jammu: An encounter broke out between the security forces and militants along the Line of Control in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir in which an ultra was killed.

Acting on a tip off, army troops and police launched a cordon and search operation close to the LoC in Veerbadeswar forward area in Kerni belt of Rajouri district to track down a group of infiltrating militants early Tuesday morning, Rajouri Senior Superintendent of Police Ramesh Jalla said.

During the search of the area, the encounter took place in which one militant was killed, he said.

One militant was killed in an encounter along the LoC in Rajouri.

One AK rifle, five magazine, five grenades and some medicines have been recovered from the spot, SSP said.
