J&K cricket team hit by regional bias charges, Kashmir players boycott matches

CNN-IBN | Updated Nov 27, 2012 at 10:55am IST

Srinagar: In what seems to be the beginning of yet another Kashmir versus Jammu row, over 12 cricket players from Kashmir valley, including the state team captain Samiullah Beigh, have boycotted matches citing regional bias at the hands of the selectors and coach Bishen Singh Bedi.

The players from Kashmir alleged they were being sidelined and the Jammu players were being preferred over them.

In fact, on Monday, a few players, including Beigh, skipped the Ranji match against Andhra Pradesh. Jammu and Kashmir lost the match by an innings.
