J&K government to develop new tourist sites

New Delhi: As part of its drive to develop new tourist places, Jammu and Kashmir government plans to focus on Kaimoh village in Anantnag district besides shrines of Sufi saints, Sheikh Noor Din Noorani and Sadermouj in Budgam district.

The shrines would be developed under heritage tourism projects, Tourism Minister Mohammad Dillawar Mir said on Thursday.

The minister said seven new water supply schemes costing Rs 19.84 crores have been approved for Shalibugh area in the district.

He said a Rs 7.37 crore project has been formulated for flood protection works from Sangam to Khrewan in Anantnag district.

Meanwhile, Health and Medical Education Minister Mangat Ram Sharma said upgradation of health care facilities especially in far off areas was top priority of the coalition government.

"Various innovative steps have been taken up to upgrade health care facilities in the state under National Rural Health Mission at all district hospitals and primary health centres, he said.
