Kashmir: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh assertion that police be vigilant of infiltration and regrouping of terrorists is keeping the Jammu and Kashmir Police on toes to thwart terror attacks which of late have been rise in Kashmir.

Just a couple of weeks later on September 13 three policemen were killed in a car bomb explosion in Rainawari
The sudden spurt in terror activity in Kashmir could be to provide cover to infiltration bids from across the border.
J-K Police believe that the Lashkar and the Jaish-e-Mohammad are jointly behind the terror strikes in the state.
The attack have reportedly been carried out by three modules of nine members each and masterminded by their chief Rehman Bhai who is hiding in Shopian.
To stop the attacks, police have intensified patrol and frisking and checkpoints have been installed to ensure no vehicle enters Kashmir unchecked.
Security forces say the terrorists may have regrouped during the continuing agitations in the Valley.
“Due to the one year long agitation all security agencies have been busy tackling the situation. Taking advantage of it some terror outfits especially LeT have recruited new youths," says IG, Kashmir, Farooq Ahmed.
The police are also bracing for possible attacks on Chief Minister Omar Abdullah after a plot was revealed with the arrest of five LeT terrorists in Pulwama two days back.
"The Chief Minister in particular and Abdullah family in general are always under threat due to some of their clear cut stand on certain issues," adds Ahmad.
So till winter blocks the infiltration routes it is an untiring vigil for the security forces in Jammu and Kashmir.
