J&K: Rape accused poses as accident victim, flees in helicopter from govt hospital

Srinagar: A rape accused made a daring escape in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. The accused, Mohammed Pervez, fled in a VVIP helicopter from a government hospital in Rajouri after posing as an accident victim.

The helicopter is meant to carry leaders in the state including Chief Minister Omar Abdullah. The government hospital was shifting accident victims through the helicopter when the incident happened.

The rape suspect also duped a policeman into giving him a compensation of Rs 5,000. The Chief Minister has now ordered a high level inquiry.
