New Delhi: A big novel about a small town, The Casual Vacancy is JK Rowling’s first novel for adults.

The Casual Vacancy is the first ever high-security book to be printed locally in India. In India the book releases under high security at 2.30 pm.

The cover is designed by Mario J Pulice, illustration and hand lettering by Joel Holland.

It may lack wizards and witches, but JK Rowling and her publisher are hoping her first novel for adults.

Earlier reports had suggested that 'The Casual Vacancy,' will have the magic touch.

Published by Hachette sets a new record for on-release sales for an adult hardback in India. She already holds the record for children's books with Harry Potter.
