New Delhi: A day after he was left out of the Union Cabinet, CNN-IBN has learnt that former HRD minister Arjun Singh is being offered the post of Governor.
A major reshuffle of Governors is in the offing and Arjun Singh's name is among those being considered, a move that could well mean the end of his political career. Arjun was being seen as a minister earned bad press and who could not handle the troubles in his ministry following the reservation row.

Arjun belongs to the group that was left out of the Cabinet on Friday. Others who've been ignored this time because of troubled tenures include
- Ex-Mines Minister Sis Ram Ola whose tenure was marked by a bitter turf war between steelmakers and miners on the issue of iron ore prices.
- Ex-Law Minister H R Bharadwaj who was slammed for Bofors accused Ottavio Quattrocchi's acquittal and also for not implementing crucial reforms in the judiciary.
- JMM supremo Shibu Soren, who has been a constant source of embarrassment to the UPA.
The Congress is keen to avoid tainted minsters and non-performers. With Rahul's brigade in the race, there's even more to choose from.
