New Delhi: It’s being touted as the wedding of the year and why not? British model and actress Liz Hurley and her business tycoon husband Arun Nayar are in India to complete the last leg of their transcontinental wedding.
Liz and Arun took Mumbai by storm the moment they landed on Monday but now the action has shifted to Jodhpur.
The couple along with Liz’s son Damien reached the royal city where the wedding and pre-wedding ceremonies are slated to take place.
Other high-profile guests expected at the bash are Sir Elton John, Parmeshwar Godrej, Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje and the Wadias.
Sources told CNN-IBN that Liz’s ex-flame and actor Hugh Grant and the Beckhams, who were expected to come for the wedding, may not make it.
Meanwhile, security personnel have cordoned off the two main venues of the wedding – Umaid Bhavan Palace and Mehrangarh Fort much to the tourists’ agitation.
“We have come from far away and were told that the palace will be sealed on March 9 but it is closed even today,” a tourist complains.
According to reports the bride and the groom along with guests are slated to attend a party at the Nagaur Fort on Wednesday night.
The fort will also host the sangeet ceremony on March 8, while the marriage ceremony will take place in Umaid Bhawan Palace lawns on March 9 followed by a reception at the Mehrangarh Fort.
So, now you know the answer to the one eternal question – where's the party tonight? Where else but in Jodhpur.
