Click to play videoNew Delhi: Twenty-two-year-old journalist Nirupama Pathak was a small town girl who came to Delhi to chase her dreams. Her family was supportive until she fell in love with Priyabhanshu, a boy from a lower caste. On April 29, the family alleged that Nirupama committed suicide, leaving behind a suicide note.
However, on investigation, the police turned the case on its head, charging Nirupama's mother Sudha Pathak with the murder.
Meanwhile, Nirupama's family claims it’s a conspiracy on her lover Priyabanshu's part.
Nirupama’s father, Dharmendra Pathak said, “He is an influential boy, he's a clever boy and a journalist, I’m sure he's getting all this done.”
Nirupama’s brother Satyendra Pathak said, “Agar humne ye kiya hai toh humare haath kat dene chahiye (If we are found guilty then our hands should be cut off).”
The police claim they have recovered vital forensic clues that nail the family's lie. Sources say the police have key testimony from a neigbour who was the first person to enter the house after she heard Nirupama's mother screaming.
She (the neighbour) allegedly saw that Nirupama was lying on the bed with water sprinkled on her face and pillow.

There was a mark on her neck, but no rope or cloth around it and the mother was only person inside the house at that time.
Police also say the scarf used in the alleged suicide, was brought by Nirupama's mother from another room.
In Koderma, teachers from Nirupama's old school say she could have never taken this drastic step.
Nirupama’s school teacher SN Jha said, “We could not imagine that she could do such a thing.”
Nirupama's death has also shocked the National Commission For Women (NCW).
NCW chairperson Girija Vyas said, “The entire case should be brought to fast court so that she gets the justice fast. She is no more with us but now the question is if this can happen with a journalist then who is safe here?”
As the police continue to grill Nirupama's father and brother several questions remain. How was there a suicide note if Nirupama was murdered and was anyone else involved in the alleged murder?
