Judicial corruption a reality: Justice Shah

The out going Chief Justice of Delhi High Court Justice AP Shah admits that judicial corruption is a reality.

In an exclusive and candid chat with CNN-IBN, Justice Shah says he was hurt at not being elevated to Supreme Court. Justice Shah will retire on Friday.

On Judicial corruption:

Justice AP Shah: I will be lying if I say there is no judicial corruption. Justice Bharucha has spoken about this. My impression is that corruption is less in higher judiciary but it does exist, it's a reality.

On being denied elevation to Supreme Court:

Justice AP Shah: It is for the people to decide if what happened was right. But I would lie if I say I wasn't hurt. I was extremely hurt. But life had to go on. It didn't diminish my commitment towards this institution.

On gay rights judgement:

Justice AP Shah: I did not switch on the TV till 8:30 apprehensive about the response to the judgement.
