Pune: The father of murder victim Juhi Prasad has decided to approach the Bombay High Court after calling the Pune Police Crime Branch's investigations into the case "tardy and lopsided".
AN Prasad, who is a Patna-based advocate, said that the Crime Branch was trying to protect his daughter's boyfriend, Nimesh Sinha, who was present at the time of the crime.
Juhi was allegedly set on fire by Sinha's former girlfriend Anushree Kundra, a Bangalore resident, at his Pune flat in his presence in October 2011. While Sinha received minor wounds, Juhi succumbed to over 90 per cent burn injuries.
On the run after the incident, Kundra surrendered a month later.
Prasad says that the Crime Branch is yet to name Sinha in the FIR in the case despite a trial court's order to probe his role thoroughly.
