Mumbai: At least 44 out of the 46 people who were arrested from a rave party on May 20 in Mumbai during the IPL have tested positive for drugs. However, the medical reports of cricketers Rahul Sharma and Wayne Parnell, who attended that party, are still awaited. Ninety-two people were detained at the venue after the Mumbai police busted the party.
Twenty-seven of the attendees have tested positive for cannabis, while one tested positive for a drug called MDMA.
Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik said, "Over 4000 music tracks that have been analysed and most of them were trance tracks."
Grappling with criticism over its ACP Vasant Dhobale's severe crackdown on alleged illegalities at pubs and bars in Mumbai, these test results have not only vindicated the police raid but could also give a fresh impetus to the Dhobale-drive across the city.
