New Delhi: Just when he could smell that win, it eluded him yet again. Jyoti Randhawa came agonisingly close to his eighth career title. But finally, he had to settle for a tied second finish in the Malaysian Open.
It is never easy to see your rival lift the trophy that could've so easily been yours.
“I think I played flawless, made birdie on the last hole, tried to go into a last play off, didn’t happen. It is golf, the other person made the birdie. He played well, this I can give to him,” says Randhawa.
The win has made him richer by $1,33,000. But more than that it has, no doubt, done wonders to his self belief; specially after the morale shattering last season.
“What I did last year was that when I had a good start I became complacent. That is not going to happen this year. I am going to be focused and try and peak out at the right time,” adds Randhawa.
Next up for him, will be the Indonesian Open and the Phuket Open.
Randhawa has taken a lot of heart from this performance and expect him to come out all guns blazing as a busy season beckons.
