Mani Ratnam's 'Kadal' features the lives of fishermen

No matter how much Mani Ratnam remains tight-lipped and safely guards his forthcoming movie, 'Kadal', every tidbit about the film is making headlines.

Now, the latest is that the ace director has roped in Malayalam comedian Baiju but not for comic relief. The actor might be seen as a character artist in the film.

Mani Ratnam 'Alaipayuthey' featured Vivek in quite a serious role compared to the comedian's other films.

\'Kadal\' to feature the lives of fishermen

Arvind Samy and Lakshmi Manchu will be playing pivotal roles in the film, which is set on the lives of fishermen.

'Kadal' brings together star kids, Gautham Karthik and Tulasi, daughter of yesteryear heartthrob Radha and Karthika's little sister. It marks their foray on big screen and both of them have been guarded from the media and film buffs.

Arjun, Arvind Swamy, Lakshmi Manchu are said to be seen in pivotal roles and the film is set on the lives of fishermen. With music by AR Rahman, the film has Mani directing a romantic entertainer after quite sometime.
