Kaka key to AC Milan's fortunes

New Delhi: Three summers ago, a dramatic turnaround saw Liverpool land victory from the jaws of defeat against AC Milan in a Champions League final. The Italians will be looking to exact their revenge, and are looking at their in-house Brazilian to do the honours.
The sight of Kaka pointing his arms towards heaven after scoring in the Champions League has become a familiar sight. As AC Milan take on Liverpool in their second Champions League final in three years, the chance to rewrite history should be inspiring enough for this prodigious playmaker.
"Though everyone is talking about a revenge match, I believe that the chance to win the Champions League is motivation enough for me," Kaka says.
But if he is reticent about hogging the limelight off the field, he commands attention on it. The highest scorer in the Champions League this season with 10 super strikes, the talismanic Brazilian beat off the deadly duo of Rooney and Ronaldo with three goals that ended Manchester United's campaign.
"To be able to score thrice against Manchester United was a privilege for me. I am happy I was able to be counted by my teammates," Kaka adds.
But unlike United, Liverpool will be tactically tougher opponents. And Kaka knows that Reds' skipper Steven Gerrard will be the biggest danger lurking out there.
"Gerrard runs, marks, knows how to pass, cross, score goals and he is a leader on the field for Liverpool. Would love to have him in our team," Kaka says.
AC Milan believe their shining light merits the Golden Ball this year. Kaka, however, would love to win the Champions League first.
