Kalam to pay visit to Rajasthan

New Delhi: President A P J Abdul Kalam will be on a one-day trip to Rajasthan on March 30, during which he will visit the Birla Institute of Techno logy (BITS), Pilani and take part in the concluding ceremony of Rajasthan Day celebrations, official sources said in Jaipur on Wednesday.

Kalam is scheduled to depart from New Delhi at 13:30 hours (IST) on Friday and would reach BITS, Pilani in Jhunjhunu district where he will interact with students and faculty members.

The President will leave for Jaipur at 15:50 hours (IST) and reach here at 17:10 hours (IST).

He will visit Jhalana institutional area here where he will attend a function at Prayas Institute, an NGO working for mentally challenged children and for the children of BPL families.

He will take part in the concluding ceremony of Rajasthan Day celebrations in the evening as the Chief Guest, the sources said.

Kalam would depart for New Delhi at 20:00 hours (IST).
