Arun Kanaujia entered their house and clobbered both Asha and Alka with a stone only to steal Rs 6.5 lakh.
It was the money the family had earned after selling off a small piece of land two months ago.
Arun, a small time moneylender, wanted to use the money to increase his business.
He was arrested on Sunday night. The police also recovered close to Rs 6 lakh that were taken from the Kalkaji residence.
