New Delhi: Former Uttar Pradesh chief minister Kalyan Singh is all set to return to the Bharatiya Janata Party. Singh met the BJP president Nitin Gadkari recently and sources say Singh may be reinducted in the party in January next year.
His reinduction is seen as an effort by the party to bolster its presence in Uttar Pradesh. Singh had left the BJP in 2009 after the party rejected his request to change Ashok Pradhan's candidature from Bulandshahr, and joined hands with the Samajwadi Party before the Lok Sabha polls.
Singh later severed ties with them too and launched his own outfit, Jan Kranti Party. "Jan Kranti Party's union with the BJP will be commemorated in Uttar Pradesh soon," Gadkari said. "The BJP will become stronger and together we will strengthen the party's position in UP politics."
