New Delhi: The best names in Indian filmmaking including the likes of Vishal Bhardwaj, Shekhar Kapur, Rajiv Menon and Gulzar are teaming up for a one of a kind screenwriting workshop.
Kamal Haasan, Hariharan, Atul Tiwari and Anjum Rajabali teamed up with the Indian Institute of Technology to announce a seminar and workshop on Indian Screen Writing in Chennai on Thursday.
It is a concept that brings together the likes of Shekhar Kapur, Rakesh OmPrakash Mehra, Vishal Bhardwaj, Rajiv Menon and Gulzar among many others to conduct a week long workshop on screenwriting from 29th May and culminate into a seminar.
Kamal Haasan was present for its inauguration in Chennai and lamented that such workshops were not available during his formative years.
What spurred on the creative genius to be a part of a module for the IITians?
"My ignorance. How long I have been ignorant is reason enough for me to start this kind of a work shop. I always wished I had something like this,” said Kamal Haasan.
And which has been the most challenging screen play for Haasan himself?
Dasavatharam, comes the reply.
What about his latest film Onnai Pol Oruvan?
Kamal Haasan said, “Onnai Pol Oruvan is a very different film. We hope it catches the interests and eye of the audience as the original script.”
