Kambli denies slamming Tendulkar and BCCI

Mumbai: Cricketer Vinod Kambli on Tuesday denied having said anything on his childhood friend Sachin Tendulkar or the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on a TV show.

"I can never say anything like this. I can not even think about saying anything against Sachin. People cannot fathom our friendship. The reports about my comments on Sachin are totally baseless. I cannot think about breaking my friendship with Sachin," Kambli said in Mumbai following reports that he had on a TV show claimed that he was ditched by Tendulkar.

"We are friends since childhood. Whenever he was in trouble I was there for him. Whatever was published was without my permission. My family and Sachin's family have felt bad about this. I have not said anything against BCCI as well. I have played for India for 18 years. I can't even dream of speaking against BCCI," said Kambli.

"Everything will be clear once the show is aired," he added.

Some reports had claimed that Kambli made the comments against Tendulkar and BCCI on a reality show Sach ka Saamna that starts next week.

The 37-year-old reportedly said on the show that Tendulkar could have done more for him during his career but didn't

The southpaw also apparently said that Tendulkar was embarrassed to accept him as a friend now.

On the show contestants are asked questions about their lives and a polygraph test determines if they are telling the truth.

Earlier, the BCCI had slammed Kambli calling his alleged charges against Tendulkar and the cricket board as "baseless".

Kambli also apparently said that Tendulkar was embarrassed to accept him as a friend now.

About BCCI, Kambli had reportedly said, "I always felt discriminated because of my cast and colour by the Cricket Board."
