New Delhi: Kannada film actress Maria Monica Susayraj, accused in the sensational Neeraj Grover murder case, reportedly name-dropped while being questioned at a local police station, Mumbai police said.
“Maria named senior officials and politicians and made some of them call up officers at the Malad police station for her," a highly placed police source was quoted as saying by PTI.
Agencies report an Additional Director General of Police rank officer, a retired Deputy Commissioner of Police and a politician called up officials at the Malad police station on the night of May 8, he said.
Grover, a creative head with TV production house Synergy Adlabs, was stabbed to death allegedly by Maria’s Naval officer-fiancee M L Jerome Mathew on May 7 at her apartment in suburban Malad.
Maria and Mathew allegedly hacked Grover's body, stuffed it into bags and then set those in Thane district's Manor.
Mathew was allegedly unhappy with Grover's proximity to Maria, who was aspiring to get a break in TV serials.
Initially, Maria had claimed that Grover was missing and broke down only on sustained questioning by officers from the crime branch.
