Kanpur: In a shocking incident, a five-year-old girl was left with burn marks in Kanpur after a brawl turned nasty. The incident took place when the girl's father, a small-eatery owner, refused to give credit to two regulars and asked them to clear their earlier dues.
The men, instead of paying, allegedly hurled abuses and thrashed the owner. When the girl rushed to stop her father from being beaten up, the enraged men shoved her aside next to a pan of boiling oil. "They took my daughter and threw her in the vessel containing boiling oil. I fainted after being thrashed," said Avinash Pandey.
The child has sustained burn injuries and has been admitted at the district hospital where her condition is said to be critical.
