Chennai: The incident of an attempt of murdering two highway engineers in Kanyakumari district caught on a video created ripples.
And now nearly a fortnight later the police only seem to be making tall claims.
"We have specific leads and we will arrest the main suspect within 48 hours,” says SP, Kanyakumari, Santosh Kumar.
Five days hence those words remain an empty promise and the driver of this car is still at large.
A fortnight ago a man named Senthil Kumar, drove this car over two highways department engineers.
It was attempt to murder the government officials who were demolishing parts of this temple that was an encroachment.
Senthil is the son of the priest of this temple and his father Arjunan is already behind bars.
But Senthil soon after this attack, abandoned the car and escaped the victims are wondering how much longer before the man who almost killed them is brought to book.
“I was threatened as to how I was going to die and two minutes after that a white Ambassador came and dashed me,” says one of the victims, Anthony Xavier.
For the moment what they have are tall claims from a police force that seems clueless.
