Kareena Kapoor's 'Halkat Jawani' saree to be auctioned

Mumbai: Ever since Kareena Kapoor featured in her bright pink saree and dark blue blouse in her item song 'Halkat Jawaani' in Madhur Bhandarkar’s upcoming film, her costume became the talk of town. And now buzz is that the same ensemble is being auctioned for a cause.

Our source says, "The money will be donated to a charitable organisation, which Kareena is associated to." There is also news that the Manish Malhotra-designed costume managed to create quite a buzz at the recently concluded Mumbai fashion week.

Same-same?

Kareena Kapoor plays the protagonist in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine' which is about the rise and fall of an actor in the Indian film industry.
Most of Bhandarkar's films have been women-centric, right from 'Chandni Bar', 'Page 3', 'Satta', 'Corporate', 'Fashion' and now 'Heroine'.
From the first look as in the trailers, the film reminds us of Kareena Kapoor in 'Chameli', and Priyanka Chopra in 'Fashion'.
'Heroine' will take the audience on a voyeuristic journey behind the sets and scenes of the Indian film industry, revealing shocking and scandalous accounts.
The film also stars Arjun Rampal, Randeep Hooda and Rakesh Bapat and Shahana Goswami (left), Divya Dutta, Helen, Shillpi Sharma, Mugdha Godse, Lillete Dubey, Raqesh Vashisth in supporting roles.
The intense frames with Arjun Rampal and Kareena Kapoor ran into a lot of trouble at the censor board.
While Arjun Rampal said to the press recently that the hot scenes with Kareena still give him goose bumps!
Talking about the censor board, Kareena's smoking scenes too faced a lot of objection and were almost edited from the trailers.
In recent interviews, Kareena said that she knew she wanted to be an actor since she was born and will continue acting till she's 90 years old!
Madhur Bhandarkar also said that 'Heroine' is not inspired by one person and that 70 percent of the film is realistic and 30 percent is fictional.
Bhandarkar had initially cast Aishwarya Rai Bachchan for Heroine' but had allegedly dropped her unceremoniously as she was pregnant.
Not just the film, even the first poster of 'Heroine' got into trouble as it closely resembled promotional photos of Mariah Carey's album 'The Emancipation of Mimi'.
Seems like 'Fashion' and 'Heroine' could have many more things in common other than the director, but Priyanka and Kareena would definitely disagree on any similarities.

And here, it looks like Kareena simply replaced Katrina in 'Chikni Chameli'.
Bollywood's fettish with the 'lavani' is seen yet again in Madhur Bhandarkar's 'Heroine'.
Randeep Hooda who started his career with 'Monsoon Wedding' in 2001 has bagged some of the biggest films of 2012, like 'Cocktail', 'Jism 2' and now will be seen in 'Heroine'.
While Priyanka had more than one love interest in 'Fashion' should we expect the same for Kareena in 'Heroine'?
Randeep Hooda already said in an interview that he doesn't need practice for love-making scenes!
While Kareena is undoubtedly one of the superstars of our times, unlike in the film, in reality she didn't have to start from the bottom, hailing from the Kapoor clan.
Now, we're used to seeing Kareena Kapoor like this - famously flamboyant!
Actress Divya Dutta who surprised us in 'Veer Zara' will also be seen in the upcoming film 'Heroine'.
'Heroine' is all set to release on September 21, 2012.
