Kargil hero Saurabh Kalia's father demands apology from Pakistan for torturing his son

New Delhi: The father of Kargil hero Lt Saurabh Kalia is now demanding justice. Dr NK Kalia has asked the Centre to take up the matter with the internanatonal court of justice against Pakistan. He has accused the Pakistan government of violating the Geneva convention on prisoners of war.

Saurabh Kalia had been captured by Pakistan during the war. His mutilated body was found 15 days later with torture marks. Dr Kalia had earlier moved the Supreme Court.

Saurabh's family wants an apology from Pakistan and the persons responsible the incident to be punished.

"This is an extremely, extremely sad story. But having expressed our deep distress and concern, we haven't got an adequate response from Pakistan...I express my deep respect to the family...he, in a sense, was a sentinel...whatever is possible will be done...Matter is before Supreme Court," said External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid.
