Karnal: A gas tanker in Karnal exploded on Friday morning causing a huge fire at a gas bottling plant. The police suspect the incident took place while illegal pilferage of LPG was on.

A probe has begun, while 15 fire tenders are trying to douse the flames.

No casualty or injury has been reported so far.

No casualties were reported even as villagers raised questions over there being no casualty.

Three cars, one tanker and a bike were destroyed, but no injured person was found. The villagers alleged that the gas mafia whisked away the injured to not leave any evidence at the site.

They also accused the administration of collusion with the gas mafia and said that they fear that their village is a disaster waiting to happen because the gas robbers carry out their handiwork so close to where they live.

They fear that what happened on Friday could have been much bigger and could have cost people their lives.
