New Delhi: A political storm is brewing in Karnataka. Former Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa is now reportedly trying to remove his own nominee Sadananda Gowda from the post.
Sources said that he will try to put pressure on Nitin Gadkari when the BJP president visits Bangalore on Thursday.
Denying any cold war between him and his predecessor, Gowda had earlier said all aspects of governance as well as coordination with the party will be discussed during the forthcoming two-day Chintan Baithak.
The chief minister, however, refused to comment on the remark made by Yeddyurappa that efforts are being made within the party to divide the Lingayat community.
On Yeddyurappa's remark that he became chief minister due to luck, Gowda responded, "The whole world knows that it was only due to luck did I become the chief minister."
