Suttur (Karnataka): Narendra Modi brand of governance has found many takers in the BS Yeddyurappa government in Karnataka.
The Gujarat Chief Minister was in Bangalore on Tuesday to share tips on governance with Karnataka Ministers.
Modi was given a royal welcome by the Karnataka government and Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said that he would replicate the Gujarat model of development in his state.
The Gujarat Chief Minister has been roped in by Yeddyurappa to give tips on improving governance and he hoped that Modi would be able inspire his ministers.
"We want to know how he is running the government. How he handles all the problems and gets the development work done," said Yeddyurappa.
Modi's classes would last for three days and is being held far away from the hustle and bustle of Bangalore in the small town of Suttur near Mysore.
The sessions have been a hit with the state ministers.
"We have heard of development work but now we can see it also," said Karnataka Law Minister Suresh Kumar.
"He is really a good speaker and I have learned a lot," said Rural Development and Panchayati Raj Minister Shobha Karandlaje.
But the state Opposition is not impressed with Modi and his gyaan sessions.
"Maybe the Chief Minister feels that his agenda of creating tensions is not effective and Modi is more effective man and more experienced because he's know for Godhra. Maybe that's why they have called him," said Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee President RV Deshpande.
The Opposition may hate him but with the Yeddyurappa in all awe of Moditva, it looks like Karnataka and at least its economic policies will be a mirror image of Modi's Gujarat.
