Bangalore: You might have seen C P Yogeeshwar romancing heroines or playing the patriotic soldier in Kannada movies.

The actor is now an MLA from Channapatna, a constituency on the outskirts of Bangalore.

He's also the Managing Director of the Mega City project.

Ten years ago, his company took money from investors and promised them plots of land along the Bangalore-Mysore highway in return. However, the firm never delivered on its promise.

Now Yogeeshwar is in trouble for several investors have approached consumer courts and a non-bailable warrant has been issued against him.

President, Fourth Additional Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum, G Siddangoud says, "What we learnt is that in the third additional forum, a warrant has been issued against C P Yogeeshwar."

The warrant was withdrawn after Megacity settled the dispute. However, more complaints are pouring in every day.

At least 200 petitions have been filed against the company over the years.

Marketing Consultant and one of the victims, Madhusudan Menon says, "Megacity was offering plots on the main highway to Mysore andat that time they had given the option for a monthly scheme wherein we had to pay every month. Many of us put in our money in installments. It's now been three years since he has been evading us and not giving us a proper reply on when the plots will be alloted."

"Three cases have been filed in this month alone. We have issued notices to C P Yogeeshwar," says G Siddangoud.

Megacity developers' empty promises are reflected in their empty office in the heart of Bangalore. And C P Yogeeshwar - filmstar-turned-developer-turned politician - is obviously has quite a lot to answer for.
