Mumbai: Two days after Mumbai witnessed widespread anti-Dera protests, Karnataka Police shifted Dera Chief Baba Ram Rahim Singh in the middle of the night, fearing similar trouble.
The Dera Chief had taken refuge at his ashram in Mysore on Saturday after trouble erupted in Mumbai, where protestors turned violent after a Sikh was allegedly shot by his bodyguard.
However, the Sikhs in Karnataka held a demonstration opposing his entry and demanded his expusion from the state.
According to sources, the Mysore Police visited Baba Ram Rahim's ashram and advised him to leave on Monday. Following their advice, the Dera Chief left for Delhi by a morning flight.
However, the police are trying to down play his hasty exit from the state saying that the Dera Chief left of his own accord.
