Karnataka state awards face legal problems

Karnataka: For the already announced 2010-2011 Karnataka state film awards, High Court of Karnataka has ordered a stay on presentation of awards.

Former KFCC President Basanthkumar Patil whos is producer of Bettada Jeeva and actress cum producer and director Priya Hassan of Bindhaas Hudugi filed a petition on injustice to their films. Justice S Abdul Nazeer has issued an order that the list submitted to government of Karnataka has to wait for the final order and stayed the awards.

Dr Bharathi Vishnuvardhana panel submitted the Karnataka state awards list for chief minister DV Sadananda Gowda at Vidhana Soudha in April 2012.

The issue of Super Kannada cinema getting award when the cameraman of the film Ashok Kashyap is the member of the award panel was also discussed at the argument.
