Karnataka students shine in AIEEE

Bangalore: Karnataka students shone in the All India Engineering Entrance Examination 2012, whose results were announced on Sunday.

More than 11 lakh students across the country appeared for the examinations, which were conducted in April and May.

Sagar Honnungar, a native of Bijapur, secured the All India Ranking (AIR) of 21 in AIEEE and stood first in the state, while Aditi Ragunathan came second, securing AIR 61, and Vivek BS secured third rank in the state securing AIR 1981.

More than 11 lakh students across the country appeared for the examinations, which were conducted in April and May.

The entrance examination conducted by the Central Board for Secondary Examination across the country at 221 centres, is a gateway for the National Institute of Technology (NIT) and Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

After the country's prestigious and toughest engineering examination, the Indian Institute of Technology Joint Entrance Examination (IIT-JEE), AIEEE is believed to be the alternative for engineering aspirants.

AIEEE 2012 Counselling Online for students will commence from June 16, 2012. Candidates are required to register and fill their choices against the desired seats by June 25, 2012. The first round of seat allotment will be on June 27, 2012.

The AIEEE 2012 score cards of candidates will be dispatched form June 21 to July 7, 2012.
