Click to play videoChennai: Surya's brother Karthik is all set for a return to the silver screen with his second film in three years, Aayarathil Oruvan. The film's trailer was launched on Sunday in Chennai in a star-studded ceremony with the likes of Kamal Haasan in attendance. As for Karthik, he is hoping this movie too creates a stir just like his maiden venture.
Karthik says, "Parithiveeran released in February 2007 and now Aayarathil Oruvan is going to come for Pongal 2010. Parithiveeran took two years to make and when it was released everyone said the wait was worth it. Similarly, Aayarathil Oruvan is going to be more than worth the wait."
A period thriller by Selvaraghavan, Aayarathil Oruvan stars Karthik, Reema Sen and Andrea Jeremiah and has been on floors since 2007. A number of hiccups later, it's finally set for a January release, much to the relief of its stars.
Reema Sen says, "It's taken a very, very, very long time. There's a lot of patience that's needed in the film."
When asked what the film is going to be like, Karthik says, "It's about us, our past and what existed before and it's been so extensively done, with such detail that it is so believable. Though it is a fantasy, it's so believable."
What's more, the actors have also sung themselves in the movie. They seem to have given their best for Aayarathil Oruvan, and now they will just have to wait till next January to see what the people's verdict is.
