Karthikeyan on racing towards victory in A1GP

India's Narain Karthikeyan finished the A1GP's season finale with a win at the Brands Hatch Circuit in Great Britain on Sunday. It was a familiar territory for Narain and he performed to the situation with perfection. CNN-IBN spoke with him after the win .

Akanksha Banerjee: Congratulations, you have done us proud. What a photo finish for India!

Narain Karthikeyan: Yeah, it was a great way to end the year. To min in England – it’s a great driver’s circuit – is awesome.

Akanksha Banerjee: You knew you grabbed the pole position yesterday. How much of that played a role in your own confidence and how crucial was it?

Narain Karthikeyan: When you have a pole position, you know you are the best and it gives you a lot of confidence. It was really a controlled drive. There were some moments of fear but we got over them. I am very happy.

Akanksha Banerjee: Talking about pit start, you lost the lead in the first one but the second one proved to be the turning point. How crucial was that for you?

Narain Karthikeyan: The second one was very good. My car was fantastic and they couldn’t even stay with us. And then, that was it.

Akanksha Banerjee: How confident is team India for the fourth season?

Narain Karthikeyan: Very confident. With Ferrari coming on board, it will suit my driving style better. It’s more similar to F-1, so looking forward to it.

Akanksha Banerjee: Personally, what does this win mean to you?

Narain Karthikeyan: Every win is special and to win t he last race of the year is even more special. It’s a much better win because we had the pole position and the win as well. Great feeling.
