Karunanidhi to take to micro-blogging sites

Chennai: Making the plunge into new media, DMK chief M Karunandihi will now be active on micro-blogging sites Twitter and Facebook, while an exclusive webpage dedicated to the 88 year-old veteran was also in the offing, the party said on Wednesday.

"New pages have been created in the name of party chief Kalaignar (Karunanidhi, as he is addressed) in Twitter and Facebook which are sought after by the younger generation. Thalaivar s (leader s) statements, poems, addresses and interviews will be uploaded there," an official release from the DMK headquarters in Chennai said.

Karunanidhi will be active on the addresses www.twitter.com\kalaignar 89 with a similar address on Facebook also, the release added.

While the DMK already has an official webpage, the party patriarch will soon have one exclusively. Titled www.kalaignarkarunanidhi.com, it would be launched by the leader himself on August 17, the birth anniversary of former DMK stalwart, the late Murasoli Maran, it said.
