Click to play videoNew Delhi: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has claimed a a breakthrough in the Delhi High Court blast case blast after arresting a medical student belonging to Kishtwar in Jammu and Kashmir. The NIA arrested the medical student, identified as Wasim Akram, on the basis of interrogation of the two suspects arrested in Kishtwar.
While Wasim Akram Malik will remain in police custody till October 21, Abid Hussain has been sent to a juvenile home.
The third accused Amir Abbas was sent to police custody for seven days.
Ahmed was arrested at the Indo-Bangladesh border. The NIA produced him in a court in Delhi on Friday seeking his custody.
The NIA zeroed in on Ahmed following the interrogation of Amir Abbas and Abid Hussain, the suspects who were earlier arrested by the NIA from Jammu and Kashmir.
According to NIA officials Ahmed and Abbas have strong links with terror group Harkat-ul-Jihad-al-Islami (HuJI) which has claimed responsibility for the September 7 blast which killed at least 15 people and injured 70 others.
Abbas, a high school boy, has been arrested on charges of having sent an e-mail after the Delhi High Court blast. He has been remanded to seven days in police custody by the Patiala House Court on Friday.
