Faizabad: The district administration on Tuesday issued notice to BJP National general secretary Vinay Katiyar for violation of Model Code of Conduct.
BJP's sitting MP in Rajya Sabha, Vinay Katiyar is party candidate from Ambedkarnagar parliamentary seat for Lok Sabha election.
Katiyar, on Monday attended a public meeting as chief guest at Gosaiganj area of the district. He arrived at the venue with a cavalcade of more than a dozen vehicles.
“A public meeting was organized in Gosaiganj area of the district on Sunday, Katiyar arrived here with a cavalcade of more than a dozen SUVs three of them without number plates, all of them bearing BJP flags. Along with SUVs Katiyar's cavalcade was led by about fifty bikers all carrying BJP flags and raising slogans,” Faizabad SDM, M N Upadhyay told PTI.
He said, “We have issued him a show cause notice regarding all these activities which we got on CD, recorded by our cameraman.”
Upadhyay said if Katiyar fails to reply in time then action would be taken against him as per rules.
