London: R&B star Kelly Rowland has quashed fans' hopes for a Destiny's Child reunion in the near future, saying the girls are just enjoying each other's friendship. Rowland, 31, parted ways professionally with her bandmates Beyonce and Michelle Williams in 2005 and the singers have since been working on their solo careers, reported Daily Star.
"We have a good time together and I think that's the most important thing. We don't want to scratch each other's eyes out; we love each other too much. If (reuniting is) something that we would want to do, you know, (we would do it) but in the meantime we're just enjoying each other's friendship. That's the greatest gift of Destiny's Child," she said.
Beyonce's father and former manager, Mathew Knowles, recently revealed plans to release a treasure trove of previously-unheard songs by the Grammy-winning trio and voiced his hopes of a reunion "in the next five years". But Rowland has played down Knowles' comments, saying the only reunion they will have will be behind closed doors as friends.
