Thiruvananthapuram: Relief operations have picked up in Iritty in the Kannur district of Kerala after rains let up a bit overnight. Nine people have died in landslides that hit the region on Monday.
Eight bodies have been recovered so far. Large parts of the town have been submerged but a nearby dam has stopped overflowing.
A team from the Navy has arrived and a batch from the National Disaster Management force is expected to reach on Wednesday.
