Basheer's wife was inside the Lok Sabha when Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee was delivering his Budget speech.
Reports say that Rubaihya Bashir accompanied her husband along with Union Minister E Ahmed to Parliament.
Marshals noticed her inside the House and asked her for her name and identity but she didn't understand what was being asked of her.
However, a Congress MP came to her rescue.
Later she was escorted out to the visitors’ gallery. The Lok Sabha secretariat has sought a report on the issue. However, Basheer denied that the incident ever happened.
"We (me and my wife) were not coming together. When I came she was in the Central Hall. Somebody told me there some news like that but there is nothing like that," said Basheer, the first-time MP from Ponnani.
