New Delhi: A 25-year-old man who died after he was arrested and later hospitalised after he barged into spiritual leader Mata Amritanandamayi's ashram, was brutally beaten up.

CNN-IBN has accessed the Crime Branch report which was submitted in court. The report confirms that Satnam was brutally beaten up by the jail warden, attendant and four other patients for fighting with a cell mate.

The report says they hit him with a thick cable wire and lock. It says there were 77 bruise marks on his body, mainly on his head and neck.

Two people have been arrested and remanded to custody for 14 days.

Mann had claimed that he was a student of a Law College in Lucknow, police said.

He created panic at the ashram by screaming and rushing to the podium of Amritanandamayi, popularly known as "Amma," while she was giving blessings to devotees. He was stopped by devotees and security guards and handed over to police.
