Thrissur (Kerala): Mango lovers in Thrissur got a taste of not one but almost 200 varieties of mangoes at a festival in the city.

Daseri, Panchavarna and Banganappally were some of the varieties farmers displayed at the festival.

“This is the first time such a festival has been arranged. We got to see so many varieties of mangoes,” a visitor, KV Santhosh said.

And for those who love to create their own mango, there was also a painting competition on mangoes.

Not only that, a number of mango farmers have also benefited from a mango clinic, which has been set up to enhance the quality of mangoes in the region.

“A mango clinic has been set up here. Mango cultivators are coming here to clear their doubts,” Kerala Agriculture University’s Professor Maicykutty P Mathew said.

So, completely in mango mood, Thrissur said hail to the king of fruits in true spirit of the season.
