Click to play videoNew Delhi: Glaring headlights is a major concern if you are driving at night. And looking at the number of accidents that take place because of this, two amateur electronic engineers from Kerala invented an equipment that ensures safer drive.
T P Abdul Razak inventor and Shanmughan Unni co-inventer say, “We saw the accidents everyday and thought of making an equipment to overcome this. Accidents during night happen largely because drivers do not show the courtesy to dim or dip the headlights, resolving in temporary blackout. And proper signals are not served to vehicles coming from behind. Drivers also don't keep the right distance and go overboard jumping lanes without assessing room."
Drivers in Mamallapuram will no longer get blinded by glaring headlights at night. These two gentlemen - TP Abdul Razak and Shanmughan Unni- have developed an electronic equipment that automatically dims headlights of vehicles approaching from the opposite direction at the right distance.
Other common problems like overtaking from the wrong side and keeping safe distance will also taken care of. Abdul Razzak, the inventor of the equipment explains how.
"The equipment will also wake up the drivers if they had fallen asleep. Drivers will be alerted to 'switch themselves on' when there is not sufficient light in the evenings. Also this equipment will react only to the filament lamps or headlights. That is, streetlights or any other lights will not interfere this equipment.
The technology has already been patented and will soon be on available on the road.
