Mumbai: Four Kingfisher Airlines flights from Mumbai were cancelled on Monday with the management blaming it on maintenance issues. The flights - IT 181, 105, 111 and 331 - were headed to Chennai, Bangalore and Jabalpur.
Initial reports had suggested that some of the airline's pilots had refused to turn up for work citing delayed salary payments.
However, the airline issued a statement later on blaming maintenance issues for the flight cancellations.
The pilots too claimed that they were reporting for work. However, sources say that some of the disgruntled pilots have threatened to go on strike over non-payment of salaries. The carrier's pilots and engineers will be meeting shortly to discuss the issue.
