Chandigarh: The Khap Panchayat of Patharwali village in Haryana's Bhiwani district turned its wrath on Indian Foreign Service officer Neelam Sharma for daring to fall in love with a man from a different caste.
Sharma, who is posted at the Indian consulate in Moscow, wants to marry Godhra ADM Kuldeep Yadav.
Senior members of the Patharwali village are vehemently opposing the alliance because Yadav is from a different caste.
Incidentally both the families are not opposed to the marriage as such.
Sources say that police protection has been provided to Sharma's parents who reside in Patharwali village.
