Mumbai: Actor Anupam Kher has always been known to get under the skin of his characters but doing that for his role in the new film Jaan-e-mann was a bit more than he bargained for.
Anupam has been cut down to size in Jaan-e-mann where he plays a lawyer who is vertically challenged - a bit of a stretch and yes, quite a tall order for the veteran actor.
“In this case, size brings in a lot of pain and yet a lot of joy. But if I say during the shooting of the film I was enjoying, then the answer is ‘no’. Every moment of it was painful but when I used to see the shots later it used be worth it,” Anupam said.
Anupam’s ‘mini me’ look comes years after actor Kamal Hassan played a dwarf in the film Appu Raja, but it's quite worth the effort, says the actor who spent hours on his knees for the role.
"The song was the most difficult part. As it is I can't dance to save my life and Farah always says that I have two left legs. So, she made sure that it was very difficult for me," Anupam quipped.
The film released on Friday and the makers are hoping this comedy will be a blockbuster-sized success.
