Kingfisher cancels order five for A-340s

Karma PaljorKarma Paljor, CNN-IBN

Kingfisher Airlines has cancelled the order for five A-340 aircraft which had been booked two years ago. CNN-IBN's Aviation Correspondent Karma Paljor spoke to Executive Vice-President, Sales and Marketing, Kiran Rao for the Airbus.

Karma Paljor: Has Kingfisher cancelled the A-340 order?

Kiran Rao: Sure. We had a discussion. I wouldn't go as far as saying that they had cancelled it. We had another buyer who needed the A-340s very urgently, so I had a discussion with Dr Mallaya and bearing in mind the drop in travel to the US and the high fuel prices, we came to the decision that it's better if they (Kingfisher Airlines) don't take the aircraft right now.
