Kiran racks brains as Sonia talks of ups, downs

HYDERABAD:  Chief minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy returned to Hyderabad with mixed feelings after meeting party president Sonia Gandhi for over half an hour exclusively at her residence in Delhi on Tuesday evening.
She reportedly told him that “ups and downs are common in public life and he should not get upset over such developments”. Confidantes say Kiran Reddy is trying to guess what she meant.
The chief minister reportedly took it that she was referring to party’s performance in the recent byelections and that she was only telling him not to worry over it.
She reportedly told Kiran Kumar Reddy that he would have to show results in the ensuing byelections since she had approved most of the names in the list which he had brought with him.
At the end of the day, the list of candidates for the 18 Assembly seats was finalised. An official announcement is likely in a day or two.
