New Delhi: A Kolkata-bound Jetlite plane, with 41 passengers and crew members onboard, had to return at the IGI airport here and land under emergency conditions this evening after the aircraft developed some technical fault.
“The Jetlite flight (S2-911) from Delhi to Kolkata, landed under emergency conditions after the pilot detected some technical fault soon after take-off,” sources at the airport said.
“The plane landed safely and no passengers were hurt,” a Jet Airways spokesperson said, adding that the exact nature of technical fault has not been ascertained.
Full emergency was declared after the pilot of the plane (Boeing 737) found some problems and asked for an emergency landing around 1840 hrs (IST). The emergency was later downgraded to a local standby around 1851 hrs (IST), the sources said, adding that it was terminated around 1904 hrs (IST).
