Kolkata: A 40-year-old differently-abled woman was allegedly sexually assaulted by a 28-year-old man in Kolkata inside a stationary bus at a depot, which is close to a police station. The locals handed over the accused to two policemen, but the accused gave them the slip and fled from the spot.
Thirty-six hours on, the police have failed to track him down. The man was caught when he was allegedly trying to force himself on the woman.
The woman had been stripped and was screaming in agony. Locals came to her rescue after hearing her shrieking. Local residents claim the police refused to lodge a case of rape and insisted the woman had lodged a molestation complaint.
